In addition to looking at these items, we also analyze the communications between the client and the law firm and how the law firm handles its legal and administrative matters. The purpose of the Legal Process Audit is to improve the attorney-client relationship and legal representation. Outside Counsel Guidelines: These are written instructions to your outside counsel apprising them of your philosophy and providing specific guidance to assist them to meet your needs and expectations. The guidelines address the full range of issues that concern your enterprise. In addition, these guidelines will simplify your bill review process by ensuring that all necessary information is included in every bill and will facilitate the evaluation of individual firms by allowing direct comparisons between your outside counsel. Training and Education: We offer seminars and workshops for legal, claims, and risk management departments. Topics include the legal and ethical basis for challenging legal bills, managing the relationship with outside counsel, what you should pay for and what you should not, the best format for legal bills and how to get it, and red flags, traps and tricks of the trade. We teach practical, effective methods for preventing overbilling by outside counsel.
